    Hello All,

I am trying to set up a new Facebook ad but this morning the layout of the set up seems to have changed.

I am wanting to use the CPC bidding strategy but it won't give me the option it says to change my objective to get more clicks but that option doesn't seem to be available to me? I get 3 options which is the only section which is anything like objectives - Get More Page Likes, Promote Page Posts and See Advanced Options (this mentions CPC) but even with the Advanced Options clicked - the CPC strategy does not come up as an option for me?

    Please can anyone help?

    Thanks so much,
    Laura

Hi Laura, to be honest it sounds like a glitch to me, Facebook have made several changes to the ad centre and ads in general recently, so this may be connected. Facebook have been arguing that Clicks aren't a relevant metric and are trying to persuade advertisers to concentrate on other metrics, based more around brand awareness than CTRs. This week they've made several changes to premium ads - marketplace ads remain the same - which may have caused this. I'm not sure if this is a temporary change or a permanent one, but will certainly investigate and let you know as soon as I can find out.

Hi Laura - further to this, it seems it is a glitch - this from the Facebook blog: https://developers.facebook.com/bugs/486796614668104/

A number of managers are struggling with targeting features disappearing, both in ads and general posts, geotargeting options seem to have vanished for a lot of users, although they still appear on the Econsultancy page so it's not across the board. Likewise, 'public' post options seem to be vanishing and reappearing at will, I'm afraid it looks as though you'll just have to wait it out. As you manage a lot of Facebook ads they may be more inclined to respond directly to you on this.
