Digital Content and Marketing Manager at Arthritis Research Campaign

Hi everyone,
This is my first post, I've only recently discovered this site (via Twitter). It's super useful.
We're launching a forum as part of our new site. I haven't managed or marketed forums since 2005/06 so would be interested in any ideas, tips or recent best practice that you might have!
All the best, Taryn

Hi Taryn,
It's hard to comment without understanding exactly how the forum links to the rest of the site/business but from my experience in forums within healthcare related sites there seems to be minimal adoption and use in the long term.
To avoid low use rates though perhaps it may be woth getting some relevant comments from your target market? That usually helps.
If I could help further, please feel free to email me with more details and I'll be glad to help if I can.
regards,
Denis

Hi Taryn
You might also want to read 'Drop off in forum posts in Econsultancy forum' which is about this forum and was posted last June.
We've since a swing away from our Forum and move towards commenting on the blog or engaging via Twitter. So there appear to be some fundamental behavioural changes going on which impact us, and no doubt others.
