I'm about to put in place a social media strategy that will call for various public-facing members of staff to participate and integrate Twitter into their roles.

I wondered if anybody had experience of this, and whether it was better to give one person responsibility every day and change our profile to say who's tweeting, or whether you might tag each Tweet by user? Any tips from past experience much appreciated.

    Hi Rory,

Our own practice is to Tweet as a 'corporate' voice, but we allow multiple user access. I think it's fine to have multiple users usig a single account, but do make sure you are transparent about this (unless you are deliberately tweeting 'in character' of course...). It might be worth saying 'tweets from the team at' or something similar in your Twitter page bio? Ashley did a great presentation on Econsultancy's Twitter use which you can see here if you want more information. Hope that helps - look forward to reading your Tweets!

    Hi Anon,

There's lots of great tools you can use to give multiple people access and manage that acess - cotweet is a great one.

If you're using multiple people to do it I'd suggest the following approach:

    - Make sure everyone understands the aims and the tone of voice required

    - If they're each goign to be focusing on an individual topic then it might be worth naming them in the tweets - but if everyone's doing the same stuff then it's a waste of characters and potentially confusing.

    Hope that helps

I agree with Chloe. CoTweet from Exact target is a great tool to explore for this endeavor.

    Also,

Good standard practice if you are going to tweet alongside more members of a team is letting people  know who is who with your initials,

    eg

    Tweet a ^XI

    Tweet b ^VS
