Good morning one and all
We currently have a datafeed within Google Base and it has proved to be reasonably successful, however I wanted to know how we should go about improving our product ranking.
Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions
Thanks
Jason

Hi Jason,
The key to a higher ranking within the shopping results is to ensure you have a highly optimised site and content.

Hi Jason,
We manage and optimise a number of Google Base feeds for our merchants. Google Base is a tricky one to master as their algorithms take a while to master and then they change! Conent is key to optimisation. The titles and descriptions need to include as many descriptive words as possible in the 70 character title limit. There are also many additional columns you can add to your feed that are non-standard. These extra columns can have more keyowrds that describe the product.
If you need a hand with it please get in touch

Hey Jason,
We blogged about optimising Google Base recently, and there's more at SEOmoz.
Good luck!

You should follow the same seo on page factors that you use to optimise a web page. The usual page title, description, etc will apply here as well. Try to use long, unique descriptions rather than simply copying the product description from yuor manufacturers site. And don't forget keyword density within the decscription. Use the main keyword in the start of the description and title.

I can only agree to the above posters. Bear in mind that these factors are also what people see in the search result page and have to entice them to click. Good luck.
