Hi all,
Does anyone know of any comprehensive click fraud auditing software or recommend a UK company focused solely on this service? I have found one software program but all it did was analyse a couple of days logs files and then declared that there might be suspect activity and to give the company that had created the software a call! What I require is a program that actually audits each ppc engine in term for suspect traffic and generate a report to send through. I have found some companies offering the service in the US but not much in the UK.
Can anyone recommend any of the following?
http://www.clickassurance.com
http://www.clicklab.com/d/products/click-fraud/screenshots
http://clickfraud.clickrisk.com/clickrisk-partners.htm
http://www.whosclickingwho.com/
Also what should I expect from the service as I would assume they would have an up-to-date list of suspect and legitimate IP addresses considering how rogue clickers can change their IP with every click? Are there any signs Google and the other ppc engines are going to release anything - I realise this may not be in their best interests however with the competition in the market the way it is I would have thought it would be a very good value add service for them.
Anyone who can shed some light on this would be great?
Thanks
Paul

Hi Angela,
No had no luck so far - there really doesn't seem to be anything in the way of software at all either in the US or UK. The companies that offer the service just offer it as part of a whole ream of PPC services and am therefore dubious as to the quality of their service. I think in the most part its just comparing logfiles manually which I don't think is the best approach and is open for many human mistakes.
We are looking into developing our own system but its a matter of knowing the right IP Addresses to monitor that are known for click fraud. Also it needs to be at least semi automated. I am surprised no one has set something up so far as its a definate gap in the market. If I find anything I'll let you know.
Cheers
Paul

Hi Paul / Angela,
Can't really help i'm afraid the only company that i have come across that specialise in click fraud is www.whosclickingwho.com, but they're a US company. Anyway if you were to sign up with them expect to pay about £50 per month or £600 a year.
Not really much help i'm afraid. As you said most offer the service as part of a package rather than a stand alone software product.

I did find a list of companies here (This includes who's clicking who) but most of their tools aren't specific for click fraud they are just general web analytic tools:

I also found:
http://www.clickassurance.com/clickfraud.html
http://www.clicklab.com/d/products/click-fraud/screenshots
http://www.alchemistmedia.com/Click_Fraud_Auditing.htm
Software demo (that doesn't really seem to do anything!)

A good article on click fraud:

Let me know what you found out!

Hi Paul / Andrew
I think this is such a major problem for advertisers. There are so many articles on what to look for but doesn't really give any specifics on how to look for it. I have an idea of what I want to find but my daily logfiles are so big, there is no way it could be done manually. We are also running load balancing servers so some software doesn't work with them (I think).
I'm wary of spending a huge amount upfront as I don't know what the companies can return. We are pretty sure that we have fraudulent clicks and would be happy to work on a commission basis with someone where they get a percentage of the refund from the search engine. They all say that they can get refunds but will not work on this basis.
Most of the companies I have seen, just put a peice of code on the landing page and track that, but I do not think this is anywhere near sophicticated enough to find click fraud.
I am speaking to a company at the moment and I'll let you know the outcome.
Thanks
Angela

Hi
Thanks. I've heard the founder of Alchemist Media speak at a conference. She's very highly regarded in the field.
I'll look through the links and post again.

Hello Angela & Paul,
At the risk of a sales pitch you should look at speed-trap. A UK-based company with the capability to do exactly what you need.... Take a look at the white paper on our site on the subject....

Hi Paul.
You might want to have a look at www.geotekcs.co.uk/adtrack.html - a click fraud monitoring and reporting system that runs on your website and can generate click fraud reports which you can forward to your pay per click provider. It only costs to purchase the software and there are no monthly costs.
