Take a look at http://www.mmrservices.co.uk.
They provide a means of contacting clients, customers, recruitment candidates and colleagues using an Internet browser and SMS messaging.

Hi and to make things complete please also note the web based services at http://www.proptxt.com (for property) and http://www.zoomtxt.com (for marketing & communications) which allow for easy two-way contact and subscriber management.

Also www.primetext.co.uk. I have a vested interest here as CEO of PrimetexT :-)
Trust I'm not breaking any forum rules with this post? If so, apologies.

Hi having a vested interest as MD of KODIME :-) just a quick reponse: with the "pay SMS only" services you of course don't have two-way communication, or keywords, or subscriber management or auto-responses - these are basic "shots" outbound which is certainly ok for basic reminders etc, but not a tool to build dialogue or relationships. Depends on the objective as usual...

Agreed. The objective is key to the services you are providing. From a detailed survey of consumers, it became apparant that initial contact via SMS messaging was seen as useful, however, people prefer to follow this up with human contact of some form, i.e a face to face meeting or telephone call. 2-way SMS messaging is not the way to conduct business, SMS is a good communications vehicle for attracting customers and providing a choice as to wether they wish to follow this up or request further information. I welcome your thoughts.

One of the unique benefits of txt is the "anywhere, instant" nature of the channel, to provide consumers (and B2B customers) with the option to "pull" information from print ads and other offline advertising. SMS/txt sits between voice and email in the emotional curve, i.e. you may not always wish to speak to a person (who may be tempted to sell/push infos down your throat), and be away from email access - that's where SMS/txt as a dialogue tool comes in handy. Plus of course it has the option of being a premium channel with built-in micropayment, making it already so popular for entertainment content delivered by both web and mobile.
