Hi,
My company is looking for a good content management system. We want something which will allow us to
1. Have a signup facility
2. Intranet/extranet features
3. Search Facility
4. Make it easy to update the site regularly across all users
All comments would be appreciated.

Hi Amit
We're soon to be publishing our Content Management System Buyer's Guide which will be very useful for you.
However, in the meantime, you could download (free) the presentations from CMS suppliers who have presented at previous Supplier Showcase events we've run:
April 2004 Supplier Showcase: WebDeck (SolidState Group), Merant Software, BoxUK (Amaxus), Base 01, RedDot Solutions, Nucleus/Tridion
September 2006 Supplier Showcase: Touch Clarity (product is Touch Clarity Targeting), Box UK (product is Amaxus), Solid State Group (product is WebDeck), Vyre (product is Unify), NetConstruct (product is NetBuild CMS), Ektron (product is CMS400.NET)

Another excellent source of information and advice on choosing a CMS is available at http://cmswatch.com/. Unfortunatly the full report isn't free. If it is a personal recommendation you are looking for, then if you are looking for a CMS that will sit on a Microsoft plafform then Sitecore is an excellent product in the small to medium market space. http://www.sitecore.com/

Hi Amit
There are lots of web content management systems and services around. You didn't say whether you wanted to host your own CMS or use a hosted solution.
You also only mentioned web content management whereas most of the more up to date system offer integrated management of content for use in web, email, sms etc etc.
Free-rein build multi channel content management systems to meet customers specific needs rather than a boxed solution that you then need to change to fit. This doesn't mean expensive - in fact many of the solutions available in the market are way more expensive that having your own system produced.
We have clients that range from small local 2-people businesses through to multi-national and blue-chip clients.
If you would just like a chat about what we can do, or would like to see exactly what is possible and how easy it can be, drop me an email and I'll send you my telephone numbers. We aim to help clients exploit the Internet fully so may have some ideas you have not considered or just a different way of doing things.
Kind regards

Hi Sarah,
Our organisation has approx 55 people and is expected to grow to around 200 by the end of next year. We have an office in London and a new operations centre has just opened in Swindon.
Our current website www.prepaytec.com is at best functional and we are looking at CMS with an eye on long term functionality. However, and as always, cost is a consideration at this stage and hence we are evaluating CMS vs a simple website redesign.
Awaitng your feedback.

Hi Amit,
I suggest you search for the CMS that's best for you at the CMS Matrix. There's over 600 of them you can compare side-by-side.

Amit,
You have a very interesting business proposition. I wonder if looking at a CMS vendor at this stage of the process may be putting the cart before the horse. Understanding the stake holder (both external and internal) requirements of the site would be a good place to start.
True Clarity believe that it should be business needs that drive re-development of a website like yours. Given the volume of CMS available getting the right one requires aligning your current and future requirements. Flexibility is the key.
We'd be happy to offer a free workshop to help refine these requirements with you. For more details take a look at our website.
Kind regards,
Andy.
