We are a UK-based enterprise, but we are currently looking at how we might sell some products or services via our website into the Eurozone. We plan to take credit and debit card payment in euros (i.e. not changed into pounds sterling). Obviously, as the seller we would face transaction fees passed on to us. But are fees or service charges for a cross-border purchase also passed on by the purchaser's bankto the purchaser for the same transaction? If so, what size are the fees? I am finding it very difficult to get any information on this and would be very grateful for any help.

I am not sure you can take payment in Euros. Yes you will pay transaction fees but in pounds sterling. You only pay them oncee depending on the % age you have negotiated with your merchant service. You can certainly advertise your prices on the Web in Euros but your transaction will be in pounds converted to Euros by your merchant service. The customer pays in Euros and your service provider converts to Pounds Sterling.
