Hi,
We are looking to build a desktop and Web application that will provide an alert service for our users...
Anyone know of any programmers who may be able to help out with this sort of project?
Thanks,
Richard

Online Manager at New Zealand Rugby Union

Hi Richard
I run the official All Blacks website for the New Zealand Rugby Union and we use a web app that is hooked into our stories. Each time we add a story to our CMS a pop-up comes up on the person's desktop if they have subscribed.
Our web developers designed this for us so its all there and ready to go - would just need to negotiate the price. ZeroOne (www.zeroone.co.nz) are the developers that designed it and Bruce is the man you need to talk to (). They are great developers and are well worth talking to - also charge in NZ dollars which is nothing in GBP!
Not sure if this is the kind of thing you are after but thought I would let you know. Its free and you can try it at http://www.allblacks.com/index.cfm?layout=desktopalerts
Works great for us
Cheers

Hi Richard
We have developed a number of desktop applications which are cross-platform (Mac & PC) using our desktop technology framework we have built over the last 12 months. As we have a framework which provides tracking, messaging, XML feed streamlining, cross platform deployment and self-updating the cost for rolling out new applications is dramatically reduced.
Please feel free to contact me and I will send you some examples of the applications we have built. Also, if I could understand your requirements in a little more depth I could provide you with a rough estimate of costs and timings.
Thanks,
Matthew O'Riordan

Hi Richard,
We have developed Zebtab, the direct-to-desktop channel, delivering news, video etc direct to the screen. We are presently live with At The Races, Maxim, TuneTribe and are building for Chelsea FC, 4thegame, City AM, EMI, Lycos, Sony BMG, Firebox etc.
I think we might have briefly met at the LSE / TiE event earlier this year!
Feel free to get in touch.
Regards Rob
