I'm considering using the ".biz" extension for a domain name It fits quite well with our marketing ideas. Opinion wars immediately broke out around the table as to whether having "dot biz" name (as opposed to ,say "dot com" or "dot.co.uk" would be a disadvantage. In-house opinions include that "people don't take .biz seriously" , "people wqon't know that it is a domain name". Opinions are good, but I'd be very grateful to hear from anone who has practical experience with using or researching the use of ".biz". Does anyone have any stories?

I have only ever had one client use the domain name .biz and that was because they had a pretty common domain and it was all that was left. General opinions that I have come across suggest it is a bit of a lame duck.
I think there is a simple test that one could apply here - how many ads for websites can you recall seeing with a .biz domain rather than a .com or .co.uk?
