I am in the process of setting up a web site for a South African Golf company that specialises in golf holidays in South Africa but am unsure as to how to market this company using email. It would need to be directed at golfers and persons in the corporate world. So how do I get this listing and what software would I need that will not break the bank.

    Hi Tony,

You could try Mardev for a list of golfers that holiday - they have subscriber lists for TravelWeekly etc. As for software that doesn't break the bank, take a look at communigator.co.uk (shameless plug) - we have both a licensed and hosted solution priced on volume and level of functionality required  so can accommodate many budgets. amanda

There's many things you can do with email (and email marketing) but you also have to be a bit careful with issues like spam  as well as the content of your email.

A "sales" email could simply annoy people and put them off completely, in which case whether your email was read or clicked would be irrelevant.

You can find some relevant information at: http://emarketingkb.naxtech.com/

I'd suggest you approach golf clubs and offer them a slice of the action...

Alternatively we can offer some search engine friendly web space and an email delivery solution to help you get your message out.

Take a look at www.businessinberkshire.co.uk , sign up for our newsletter and watch what we're getting up to... we're running an Internet Marketing Business Seminar on the 27th June in Reading.

I would recommend you get some professional advice. You need an email marketing specialist and i would always recommend dotMailer (www.dotmailer.co.uk) who have a vast range of clients and experience is all types of B2B and B2C marketing. They can help you build or buy lists and plan, design and execute your emails. Dont forget that the DPA does not apply to companies, so with some research you could email golf clubs with your site info.

The simple solution would be to create a search engine friendly website and promote it in websites which target the same niche audience. Also promote the site on adwords. Stick an email capture form on your website using something like Aweber. This way you will get your own list of subscribers. It will take longer but you'll end up with high quality and low cost data.

    Hope that helps
