Does anyone know of an alternative to Hitwise out there for competitor analysis? Essentially I'm after i) upstream and downstream analysis of competitor sites, ii) data on which keywords are driving traffic to competitors, and iii) data on which sites are getting traffic from specific keywords.  Alexa and the Yahoo seach term suggestion tool take me some way there, but it's not enough.  Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Hi, Wordtracker is a possible alternative. Search Engines protect a lot of that data, so accurate data is few and far between.

thanks Tony.  I have that, thanks.  Its useful for search volume and suggestions but doesn't really give me any info on competitors.

    You could try:

    http://www.competitious.com/

It is free but it may not cover all points i to iii

Not sure if you're after a paid for service or not but Nielsen Netview would cover point 1:

I think they are looking to develop something similar for keyword analysis but you'd have to give them a call. You could also take a look at http://www.adgooroo.com/? There is nothing though that covers it all off like you would get from Hitwise.

    Cheers
