Here are my thoughts on what the homepage could become:
General
- normally I'm against animations but maybe the cloud of coloured lozenges should build in an animation that runs only once?
- news feeds. Rather than 10 stories from the Internet Europe news feed on the homepage I think there should be 3 stories from each of the 3 news categories that we have on the site: Internet Europe, Internet Consultancies, Internet Features.
- Have a daily featured: quiz question, white paper, provider. The question, white paper title, provider name + brief description would be given linking deeper into the site. They would be selected at random from the database.
- Forum: Have link to most recent post + most popular message (by no. of time read) of the last week
New site visitor specific:
- Perhaps emphasise a link to the About section a little more so that the user can find out about the site
Registered visitor:
- Personalisation elements as already on the site with links to postings submitted since last visit
