Hi
Been looking into these Social Networking sites and have been wondering how to use them for my clients benefit in an advertising sense.
I know I can buy Google PPC and get them to do some "Social Whispering" (my term for joining and "blogging" about x or y), but is there any other way anyone has tried??
Just asking..

Hi Graham,
I run an e-business consulting company called Transform eBusiness Ltd, out of Glasgow, but also have some Joint Venture interests - basically using my acquired knowledge for my own business interests - as well as helping others.
We started off doing website development, but quickly focused on SEO, PPC and the full gamut of Internet Marketing services - e.g. Newsletters, Web Press releases, email shots, competitions, brochures etc . We also do 360 Virtual tours - www.360-virtual.com and have a great interest in promoting Tourism - especially here in Scotland.
I have spent a lot of time & money getting the best info from the gurus in the states - guys like Perry Marshall for Adwords, Jim Edwards, Yannik Silver, Joe Vitale , Rich Schefren, Jerry West, Michael Campbell and many more, so guys like Matt LaClear are part of Yannik's Underground Secret Society, and as a member I get access to all the new tricks and tips. I am also part of Jim Edwards The Net Reporter group and he has a huge amount of great info to learn from and apply on the internet.
Adwords is a big focus for us, for our own projects and for clients. We know how to do in-depth Keyword analysis, slice and dice and group them and write tightly targeted ads which get high Click thru's to matching Landing pages - a la Perry Marshall /Mark Widawer advice, with split testing and conversion tracking to keep driving improvement in response etc.
Another area I am focusing on for my own business development is Affiliate Marketing, and E-Consultancy has been a great help in providing reports and white papers in this area. Lots to read and its piling-up..:-)
Finally, we are in partnership with a US Portal supplier DynaPortal, who have a very professional, tightly integrated portal solution which brings us into Communities and Social Networking - the latest great thing on the web. Thus my own interest in the Social Networking side and its business opportunities.
We are developing Portals for clients in the UK - providing business consultancy, portal design and maintenance services, while also building one as part of a JV of our own - called BigOnHealth - see www.bigonhealth.biz for the store (still evolving), with portal to follow...and an Affiliate Network is required to grow this business, along with some serious PPC. So, that's what I am up to and I hope that's not too much info, and perhaps you can reply either here or to imacg@transform-ebusiness.com, cheers, Iain
