Spinnakerpro is one of the few email tools that can run inhouse or hosted. And you can switch plans at any time. It won the TMC CRM product of the year and was finalist in the Clickz best newsletter product category. Free trial and free newsletter signup form for your website. Also have a look at the e-consultancy email buyers guide. There's a new version due soon I am told. Remember that deliverability is the keyword for 2007. Price matters but not at the cost of ending up in the junk folder or not at all.

Hi Sita,
I didn't ask the initial question...sorry to hi-jack the thread, but it's the same topic ;-)...but I'm looking to send more than 500,000 email newsletters a month (eventually) and need to select a system that offers best value for that requirement.
I'm concerned that going direct to an in-house solution doesn't allow enough time for the organisation to adapt to making best use of the system and carries a higher risk of service failure if our IT dept have to get things up and running quickly and bug-fix on the fly. Ideally I'd be looking for an ASP to work with on getting things up and running, with a view to moving in-house at a later date.
Any recommendations?
Cheers,
James

Hi James
a few things to consider 1st before i make some recommendations:
- will you do these volumes of sends consistently each month for a whole year?. If not do you want a pay-as-you-go system?
- how do you collect data at present (single/double opt-in etc)?.
- do you want your own dedicated IP (better deliverability but a pain in the backside to maintain and nuture)
- never mind your IT department - how technically advanced are your you?.Will you be looking to create htmls on the system or do you have a developer who will create them for you?

Simon78, and anyone else.....
Given that you mentioned our product it would be remiss of me not to dive in here along with the other suppliers who have posted :-)
There is of course no such thing as the 'best' email solution otherwise everyone else would be out of business. Using an ASP solution, rather than in-house, is almost always the best, most cost-effective way as it removes the need to spend time and money on in-house technical and human resources and ESP's like ExactTarget and others have the expertise already to hand.
The choice of ESP then entirely depends on your needs and the suppliers match up with that. Decide the order of importance of ease of use, deliverability, integration with other systems such as CRM and Web Analytic tools, technical and services support, knowledge of your industry, cost etc. and then see who comes closest.

Hi James,
If I may be so bold as to recommend my own solution Ensight (since everyone else is pitching theirs ;))...
We offer an integrated emarketing solution that covers three online channels and is great if you want to look at an integrated approach to emarketing. We also support high-volume sending with both our hosted and standalone solutions. Please see www.ensight.co.uk for details and contact me if you're interested in discussing further.
Regards
