Hello,
I wanted to let people know that I've read a Microsoft Press release that they're going to launch the final version of Internet Explorer 8 at noon EDT today, which I think is 17:00 UK time.

It's not clear at the moment if this is a download or an automatic update, but I would expect download only at first, so not such a large proportion of audience will be using it in the short term.
This doesn't seem to be very widely advertised at the moment, so could sneak up and bite those people who have not prepared their sites for IE8 compatibility.
Hope this message helps a few people be prepared.
Good luck!

When Firefox broke on my home PC last month, I decided to finally give IE another chance and use it as my main browser for a few months as an experiment.
I was quite shocked to find that it is great! It handles RSS feeds much better than Firefox. However, there are too many essential add-ons for Firefox that I cannot live without.
