True Clarity is a consultancy lead technology solutions company. We are putting together a series of small community sites where we will offer frank and open view points on topics that we feel passionate about. While we will be open about this being a marketing strategy, it is also a long term strategy where we will value deeply the relationships we build with the community.

What we are not sure about at this stage is what kind of person will be quaified to run a site like this? The following areas seem to be important:

    • Someone who has expertise and passion about the topics under discussion.
    • An organised and task driven individual who can ensure the site is kept fresh and up to date.
    • Someone with great copy writing and editorial skills?

Hopefully someone in the forum could help me shape this role? Any thoughts on skills required to make a small but vibrate community site a success?

Hi - you're welcome to email me if you need some advice. Am happy to help. I look after community and user-generated content at AN Digital (the digital division of Associated Newspapers) and have plenty of ideas about the types of skills required to make this kind of project a success. Also, join emint - the community of online community managers, as everyone there is fairly clued up on this type of thing.

    Ilana,

Thanks for feedback, I'll take a look at the emint site first. We're still defining the business plan for the site. Once I've progressed that I'll pick up the offer of a call.

    Many thanks,

    Andy.
