Can anyone please direct me to any research that has been done on monotizing children's websites? Specifically it there are specific criteria that needs to be looked at before monotizing a website such as visitor numbers.
Thanks

HI GrinLock.
I don't know of any research but my company specifically look at creating revenue for websites in any sector and we don't charge at all.
We look at websites and apply our product that is very simple to use and you start to earn money right away. We have a backlog of about a day as we are monetirizing so many sites but can have you up and running within 24 hours.
If you would like a free demo then please let me know and I will send you one.
Kind Regards

We are in the process of developing a website for children called OrsumIsland ( http://www.orsumisland.com. ) We've created a shop selling t-shirts but now there is some doubt as to when the best time is to link this shop into the main site. A marketing company indicated that it is not a good idea to monotize a children's website to early but I would like to base such a decision of research facts.

The website is a promotional website for a 3D animation series under development. It is purely entertainment related. As a matter of fact we don't really want to make money from the site but a question has been raised over whether it's too early to link in an e-commerce site that sells t-shirts, based on the site’s characters, at cost. The question is whether it is detrimental to the site to offer them the opportunity to buy the t-shirts this early in the site's life cycle (the site’s been up for only a month now) or whether one should wait until there is a large, loyal community. Personally I cannot see how selling t-shirts would be determinate to the site but I would rather base any decision in this regard on research findings.

I don't have any research so can only offer an opinion. I think the ability for young early adopters to have the t shirt before the site becomes popular might be positive rather than detrimental...
