    Does anyone know where there is a good source of on-line retailer stats. I am seeking numbers of online retailers in the UK and also USA & Canada.

    If you follow some of the references included in the document, you'll find some more data.  Also, the BERR 2008 Information Security Breaches Survey gave some interesting statistics:

    How many UK websites allow customers to transact
    online?:

        * 22% websites allow customers to submit orders online;
        * of these, 79% allow customers to enter payment details online (either directly or via a payment services provider).
