    Hi all

One of our clients is looking for an individual ideally but could be an agency/project management team to co-ordinate the migration of content from a number of websites into one "supersite".  Has anyone come across anyone who might fit the bill? It's a 4-month project at least and will require detailed project planning, some internal stakeholder management and hands-on implementation. It doesn't fit the bill of any of our usual contacts…

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Chris,

We might be able to help, if you are working on a Microsoft platform.

We are a managed development outsourcing agency, and have previous experience of consolidating sites together on to a common back-end. We work with clients in Scotland and London.

If you're still looking for help, do you want to drop me a line at ?

    Cheers,

    Mary

    Hi Chris

Because of our extensive CMS experience, this is a challenge we are frequenty tasked with and are very used to helping with migrating & consolidating websites.  We recently completed a content migration and consolidation for ICAP (www.icap.com) as well National Magazine Company when they re-launched Men's Health (www.menshealth.co.uk) and wanted to migrate their content but retain their search engine rankings.

We are able to offer the following services that I believe are relevant to your requirement:

    • Automated migration of content through content scraping, automated scripts or XSLT processing.
    • Manual migration of content at lower than typical agency costs through our production resource service.
    • Retention of inbound links and Search Engine rankings through a variety of methods including bespoke URL rewriting modules.
    • Help with communication with internal stake holders to agree on a consolidation strategy and hierarchy - this is a key requirement to ensure this project can be delivered accurately and on time.  Without a clear hierarchy for decision making and pro-active resolution of content conflicts we find projects will run on indefinitely.

Do give me a call if you think we could help.  I would love to run you through some examples of this work we have done for other companies.

    Regards,
