I have a client who uses a rich internet application and is wrestlng
with the problem of recording page views with comscore. Without regular
page requests my client gets undervalued by comscore in terms of page
views.
I read at http://www.techcrunch.com/tag/smugmug/ that SmugMug recently
added a lot of Ajax functionality to the thier site and have found a way
of updating URLs as people navigate the site.
Does anybody know how they do this. Is it difficult technically?

the whole ajax thing is going to cause issues for page measurements if your analytics system/external service is based on page refreshes.
I can't believe the big operators - comscore/hitwise aren't on the case with upgrading their systems - I know a lot of the analytic firms are already.
Might be worth a chat with Hitwise to see if they are further ahead than comscore?
