    Hi Russell,

I work for Codeworks Connect, the North East Trade Association for Digital Technology Companies.  As such, we have around 160 technology providers within the Connect membership.

As part of our Solution Finder service (see www.codeworksconnect.net) I will include this in our Business Leads Bulletin for members, and I'm sure you'll get some responses.

    Good luck!

    Elaine,

I am looking for proven implementations of this functionality - we have a number of developers at our disposal already but I was hoping to find a package that could be quickly and easily tailored to our various sites.  So I suppose neither developer nor consultant but rather someone who can implement this with a proven track record.  Hope that helps.

    Hi Russell,

This is something that LShift Limited could probably do for you.  Are you looking for a consutlant or a developer?  Regards,Elaine

I am looking for some names and working examples of compaines that can develop world class in-site “Search” functionality – i.e. I want to include a quick search function on our sites and we may need some external development resource to build a good/smart search facility. I think we need something more than an off the shelf package given the complexity of some of the search terms that could be entered.  Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Russell,

We'll shortly be releasing a a comprehensive, open source solution for spidering, indexing and searching collections of sites. The core of the indexing engine is based on Apache's Lucene (http://lucene.apache.org), and the software will be released under the GPL licence.

This solution is currently undergoing public sector trials in the UK, and is also being implemented by us (Torchbox – http://www.torchbox.com) for a number of our clients; so while I can't point you to live examples right now, several will be in the public domain very soon.

Let me know if you would like more information.

    Hi Russell,

Mondosoft seem to be worth investigating since main premise seems to be analysing and improving search conversion efficiency.

and this research will be a useful backgrounder?

Hurol Inan's backgrounder on Search analytics may be helpful:

Don't think this has been mentioned?
