I need to provide my peers with a predition of how much traffic we could generate through each of the following online pr activities:
widgets, press releases, rss networks, social groups, video networks, blogs, forums and q&a networks.
Any thoughts as to what would be a realistic traffic increase prediction after the 3rd month.
I know is a bit of an unkown, but I've been asked for a forecast and don't want to over-commit.
would a 5% increase through each be realistic?
Any thoughts will be much appreciated.
Regards,
Marco

A difficult one to answer - even knowing the exact nature and scope of your planned activities in these areas...
However, if you're interested in seeing if more people are talking about your product/brand/service/organization in social media (blogs, forums users groups, social networks) before, during and after you camapaign, then we can help you.
We can also let you know what people are discussing about you (praise, criticism, recommendations, questions, suggestions) the places and the impact of their conversations. See www.asomo.net and / or contact jon.moody@asomo.net.

Hi Marco,
This is one of those: "how long is a piece of string?" type questions. The main thing is to really understand
a) your current traffic/conversions - where are they coming from, and what is driving them?
b) conversations about you and your brand, what are the themes that predominate and what is driving positive and negative word of mouth?
c) how both of these relate to your core message/value proposition
Widgets/RSS/online PR/blogging are simply tools which can make your own core message resonate more effectively with consumers. Get the mix right and you could see huge dividends in terms of traffic, but I would prefer to use metrics based on customer conversions, or market share, or authority/approval in your competitive area. If you want an informal steer on your positioning and a steer on how to train expectations, give me a call on 020 7793 1575 at Market Sentinel.
Best wishes,
