Sorry if this is a bit off topic but does anyone know of any good time managment software which helps monitor time spent by designers and developers on web projects? We have been looking at different suppliers and have not managed to find anything that suitable yet. All suggestions welcome!

    Hi,

We were in a similar situation about a year ago, knowing exactly what we wanted, but couldn't find anything matching exactly.  I think, in the end, we would have had to write a bespoke app to fully fulfil our requirements, but we decided to go with Track-IT from Dovico (http://www.dovico.com/) which seems to do about 98% of everything we need...

For designers/developers/PMs, it's unintrusive, and minimises to a little box whilst tracking time.  The reporting and analysis (charting, etc) is good, and it's pretty quick to use (and set-up with projects, etc.).  Our main worry was the culture-shock for people, but because it's pretty quick to select new tasks, it's rolled out to people without much hassle at all.  And it can synch data at a later date, so you can still record time whilst mobile (e.g. on the Train, at home).

They gave us a live/conference demo - it's worth having (even if you decide not to go for this product, you'll see some features which you may not realise you needed, and can then update your requirements!).

    Thanks,

    Dan

I know of a couple of really bad systems from my agency days...

I was speaking to one of our Chinwag Party co-sponsors, and they offer what you're describing - have a look at http://www.inon.com

I've no idea what they're like but let us know what you decide on.

There's some great software called time from TimeWatch which should be what you're looking for - www.timewatch.com  Your designers/developers could enter time via the office network or via the web and it can link to billing systems. There's an online demo on their site and they offer free evaluations.

    Hi,

    I’m a new member.
We’ve had a couple of CentralTime demos from TimeWatch and it seems to meet our needs.
However, we would like to see what else is available. Does anyone know of any other similar products?
    Our requirements:
    1. Time and expense management
    2. Interface with CODA Dream
    3. Ability to fill in timesheets off line
    4. Job based
    5. Standard and customisable reports
    6. Forecasting
    7. Preference: SQL Server based
    8. Invoicing (not essential)
    9. Accessible from web browser (not essential)

    All suggestions welcome!

I see this is really old discussion, but i would like to share my experence of web timesheet(www.replicon.com)  that we use at our organization.

Its a SaaS based timesheet so we dont have any headache of maintenance, software upgrade or devoting any resources. Its easy use and is accessible from most of the web browsers.

It can prove to be best resource for employee time tracking based on project/task.
