    Hi all,

What recommendations would you make for a comprehensive webstats/analytics program for Linux hosted sites.

We have AW Stats installed, but was hoping for something more sophisticated and also to enable the ability to send automated reports my email etc.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks in advance.

    hi, Matt, how are you?

the first place to look would probably be the econsultancy 2006 web analytics buyers guide.

Aside from that - it depends on what specifically you're trying to do/how much time you've got to focus/budget, etc. but a very good (free) introduction to web analytics, that may well meet all of your needs is Google Analytics.

If you're wanting to spend money, I personally have used (& liked) omniture, coremetrics & websidestory (hbx), each of which offer fairly similar functionaltiy that should cover most things you'd want to do.

    Hi Matt,

If you're looking for a free package you could try Google Analystics or Clicktracks Appetizer. Clicktracks is an incredibly powerful yet easy to use package that I use for the majority of my clients. I'd probably go for the hosted Professional version but appetizer will give you a good introduction to the full product and you can see if you like it before you buy a more comprehensive analysis tool.

    Hope that helps!

Thank you guys - most helpful.

Interesting, in the 'web-analytics-buyers-guide' (which was very helpful) it notes that Google Analytics does facilitate emailed reports. But on Google help files it says not.

Still a great package for nothing any how.
