Just wondering if anyone has a clear understanding of the difference between Omniture and WebTrends iOS tagging and reporting - keen to find out what you like/don't like about both in particular with reference to iPad application tagging and reporting.

I have implemented Webtrends Mobile Analytics and it took me about 4 hours to describe the process adequately for the agency delivering the analytics and they got it right the first time around. Also this time included creating the data source and profile in Webtrends along with a few custom reports.

This requires you to sign up, but is entirely free.

The developer network holds detailed information on how to set different standard and custom events, such as screens, content groups, scenarios, conversions, segments and so forth. It also contains an SDK which actually gives you 2 libraies you add to your project. then you simply create a header file which includes the webtrends library and call the functions from the included library.

I was positively surprised with how quick it was.

As for how to view the data, you have data in the OnDemand interface and a set of 25+ preconfigured reports for mobile. Also you can view the data in the Webtrends Analytics 10 interface available from End April.

I have no experience with Omniture, but from what I have heard, Omniture can be a real pain to implement.
