Hi Sarah
We have recently completed a number of projects focussed on a younger audience, but as Andy has said, the approach will vary immensely based on the more specific age group.
We'd love to run you through some of the work we have done and understand what you are after to see if we are a good match for your requirements or not.
BTW. I am not 100% certain, but I think I recall meeting you at an Econsultancy event (Future of Digital Marketing I believe) around a year ago, you were there with a colleague of yours. Am I getting my wires crossed, or have we already met?
Hope all is good. We have worked on a number of kids websites, microsites, games, competitions, etc for companies like Hit Entertainment (Bob the Builder, Fireman Sam), DreamWorks (Shrek, Flushed Away, Madagascar, ...), Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and so on.
If this is of interest it would be good to chat and I would be very keen to find out more on your website.
My contact details are: rowan AT nakedpenguinboy.com or tel: 02074904338 and of course you can see examples of our work on our website www.nakedpenguinboy.com
Thanks and have a brilliant day.
Best

Dear Sarah
This sounds like a very interesting project and right-up-my-street.
To be honest, I haven't had the opportunity of working on a website for a project like this.
But I do have a fair amount of experience in website design, with a special focus on Flash animation and all the excitement and boom! that can bring to a website and also in the old days, lots and lots of packaging, advertising brochures and product styling etc for loads of excellent kids toys. For companies like; Argos, ToyRUs, and Halfords. Bring the two skills together and Bobs your uncle, you have the potential for a really excellent dynamic kids site, built by a big kid himself.
If your keen please do email me at: neil@deshok.com
Kind regards Neil
