I have a client who wants to update a set of MS Word templates to Office 2007. They have various sets in use around the world and want to standardise and then have those loaded on to the desktops.  I am looking for a real specialist agency or individual who can work on the MS word templates part of this.

I am talking about knowing how to use the template feature in great depth and breadth, being able to explain that (and where the pitfalls and benefits lie) and to work patiently with myself and the client as we negotiate a global standard.

This is NOT about designing a good looking document (I have the design already).

    Any recommendations?

    Hi Sarah

I've done this and one thing that you really need to impress upon them is Word templates are not pixel perfect. The client I worked with paid an agency a small fortune to come up with exactly where text, logos, etc should be on the page and then, when translating into Word, just could not understand that it could not be replicated to that standard.

Apart from that, it's not a particularly specialist skill. The techy part really is more in the distribution of the templates rather than in their creation.

Hope that helps and let me know if you're still looking for a partner.

    Hi Susan,

    I must say: I couldn't disagree more...
Have a look at the E-consultancy Reports on this site. They are actually all created in MS Word by average users. But.... using professional MS Word Templates. Template creation IS a science and a very specialist skill. Only so that more average users can actually use them successfully. I have worked and trained on MS Word in the City for nearly 20 years and we are designing and also transferring designers ideas into stunning templates - no complaints from any of my clients (and that's a fact). Just have a look here : http://www.clear-thought.co.uk/in_thought/art/21
    and here: http://www.creativetemplatesolutions.com/Word%20Templates.html

    Hope this helps.
