Job Description

The role of Business Development Director will be to take responsibility for the agency's new business output, external reputation and meeting the agency’s new business income targets. This is a senior role which will include management of projects and team members. The successful candidate will also be expected to 'roll their sleeves up'.

Specifically:

1. Managing the agency business development programme. This role will focus on the active seeking of business opportunities through the multitude of channels available, from contacts to press leads, RFP's and Tenders. Manage inbound client interest including initial dialogues through to completion of RFP's, managing writing and presenting agency pitches.

2. To take responsibility for delivering new business income and meeting the agency’s new business growth targets.

3. Building strong relationships with new business leads and prospective clients, understanding their businesses and requirements and effectively positioning and promoting Cheeze and its products and services, maximising the agency opportunity to convert each opportunity.

4. Ensuring that the agency’s proposition is positioned correctly to win profitable business in the short term and to work with the management team to ensure that the agency proposition evolves as clients and the industry develop.

4. Supporting agency product development. The role will also include supporting (and in some cases, potentially leading) agency developments in the services and products on offer.

5. Manage a growing team of new business managers to deliver the business achieve targets and continual personal development.

6. Agency PR: Liaising between the agency PR manager and agency teams to deliver the right information at the right time to maintain and grow the agency's successful relationship with the press. This will involve responding to, or managing agency responses to journalist request, meeting with journalists to promote the agency.

7. Working with the Client Services Director to manage agency resource to help deliver successful RFP's pitches and content.

8. Regularly attending industry events and networking opportunities.

Candidate Requirements

The right candidate will need to have at least 2 years experience in winning business for a digital agency or digital business, combined with considerable wider agency experience before or during that time. Ideally the person will be a known figure within the industry that brings with them recognition and a rolodex of contacts within the industry.
