Job Description

This is a unique and exciting role working as part of LOCOG’s commercial team to shape and implement the commercial strategy to derive revenue from LOCOG’s digital platforms. LOCOG’s websites will be a primary way for the general public to get involved with London 2012; the main website is expected to receive 10 billion page impressions by September 2012. We are looking for a person to drive the strategies and develop and implement the plans to produce revenue from our web presence. We expect a significant proportion of the revenues to be generated from online media sales so some experience in online media sales and dealing with media buyers would be attractive.

Key responsibilities/accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement the strategy and executions to derive revenue from LOCOG’s digital and mobile platforms.
  • Develop strategies and plans with the New Media team in order to achieve commercial results which are compatible with the sites’ primary purposes.
  • Consider and develop revenue from sources which could include: advertising, partnerships, co-promotions; application downloads; music downloads; game downloads; and promotion opportunities.

Candidate Requirements

Key knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications required:

  • A person with a track record of delivery and success in producing commercial revenue from digital platforms.
  • The individual will be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of the current state of the world of e-commerce.
  • Proven ability to think strategically.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement successful commercial programmes online.
  • Experience of online media sales and dealings with media buyers.
  • Track record of building winning commercial relationships.
