Job Description
BACKGROUND
The Group Digital team in Standard Life is seeking a Digital Manager to lead its Planning & Projects team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to deliver real improvements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivery of Digital Elements
• Evaluating and ratifying business propositions from a digital perspective.
• Ensuring digital elements of projects are clearly understood across stakeholders.
• Highlighting how digital can add value to an underlying proposition, providing a robust rationale for proposals.
• Overseeing project approach to ensure relevant activities reflected, e.g. usability testing, system testing etc.
• Agreeing project timelines and delivering to these.
• Making best use of innovations to produce leading edge digital solutions.
• Establishing key metrics for digital initiatives and measuring against these to determine success.
• Managing suppliers effectively to ensure outputs are delivered on time, budget and to the necessary quality.
Planning
• Inputting into business and project planning process to ensure resources are distributed efficiently.
• Preparing business cases to gain buy-in for digital initiatives.
• Ensuring the ‘Planning and Projects’ function aligns with overall digital strategy.
• Playing an active role in budget management.
Stakeholder Management
• Acting as an ambassador for the Digital Centre of Excellence helping to promote its role and capabilities.
• Acting as a key contact for internal and external stakeholders, resolving any issues.
• Working with other, non web-savvy, teams to promote best practice.
Team Leadership and Management
• Acting as a mentor to team, providing guidance and knowledge to help them up-skill.
• Setting individual objectives and measuring against these.
• Setting clear standards for the team to ensure the quality of outputs is maximised.
• Reviewing, prioritising and allocating projects across the team.
• Ensuring team workload reflects commercial priorities of Standard Life.
• Reviewing processed to identify opportunities to increase efficiency
Candidate Requirements
The following attributes are essential for this role:
• 3- 5 years of experience in developing high-impact digital solutions for high-profile brands.
• Proven analytical skills and experience.
• Hands-on experience in creating compelling business cases, backed by robust rationale.
• Positive ‘can do’ attitude that can create an air of enthusiasm around digital amongst stakeholders.
• Strong planning, project and resource management skills.
• Knowledge and application of web methodologies, i.e. user-centred design, development approaches such as agile.
• Hands-on experience in different facets of digital design, with a particular emphasis on user experience and visual design.
• Experience of consulting and influencing at all levels.
• Must be creative and have the ability to adapt to rapidly changing satiations.
• Proven experience of leadership through previous team and people management.
• Understanding of web development technologies.
• Educated to a degree level or an equivalent professional qualification
