eCommerce is a key driver for Electrocomponents' strategy. Since the launch of our first UK trading site in 1998, we have led the exploitation of eCommerce opportunities within the B2B world. The eCommerce channel now accounts for £350M p.a. globally and is over 40% of group wide revenue with over 4 million sessions from 1.5 million different customers each month.
In order to deliver the newly defined Group eCommerce strategy we are investing in a number of new roles to develop and accelerate the group’s journey towards an eCentric organisation.
The job:
With your eCommerce expertise, you’ll assist our online trading team, as they work to create the best possible websites for our £multi-million business.
You’ll assist the team with sourcing feature content and enhanced data assets, while helping to manage tactical search tuning. It means liaising with our teams around the world, correcting problems with semantic search outputs (such as misspellings), and identifying any areas of poor performance.
Candidate Requirements
What we're looking for:
You may have a relevant degree or equivalent experience, working in an eCommerce business. Either way, you’ll have an understanding of social media and experience of sourcing and producing rich media content (Shockwave, Flash). If you also know the benefits of good information architecture, language’s effect on search engine rankings and how database search tools work, so much the better.
