Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide customer-insight using statistical analysis by defining and monitoring reporting and using ad-hoc analysis of online user behaviour, transactional activity, site performance indicators and other key metrics to optimise the customer experience and to drive effective online decision-making.
Ensure new site developments are effectively tracked and monitored ensuring that key indicators are reported and communicated.
Assist with site investigations, testing, and customer surveys & studies, providing insight and evidence to make recommendations; support improvements; and to resolve website issues.
You will ensure you understand the scope of the system change and the business requirements so that effective testing and reporting may be executed as required.
Principal Accountabilities
- Specify and project manage implementation of tracking tags across all William Hill websites
- Ensure reporting is in place to measure and communicate insight into site changes and customer behaviour. Pro-actively optimise reporting and the measures and ensuring its relevant to product and business managers
- Communicate and influence insights and inspire positive actions to key stakeholders
- Analyse data to identify how best to optimise conversion across the site
- Provide analysis into specific issues/problems regarding customer behaviour making recommendations where possible
- Conduct analysis to improve conversion, customer retention and customer profitability from the site design, product and mapped customer journeys
- Investigate known issues and changes to KPI's/trends in order to understand cause and impact
- Monitor and report on availability and performance KPI's, highlighting the impact of any degradation/improvements
- The post holder will also be required to carry out multivariate, usability and UAT testing to ensure all changes optimise the customer experience
Candidate Requirements
Qualification, Skills and Experience
Required Skills/Knowledge /Attributes:
· Solid experience using any web analytics solutions (such as Unica, Omniture, Webtrends, Google, etc) and advanced data reporting experience (eg. Crystal Reports, SQL)
· Understanding of web best practices and web conversion/funnel metrics
· Highly numerate and commercially aware
· Good understanding of website technologies such as javascript, AJAX in order to manage tagging requirements and understand core website functionality
· Demonstrable customer-centric thinking
· Self motivated and enthusiastic approach to work
· Ability to influence senior management and make recommendations
· Ability to present analysis effectively
· Advanced Excel skills
Desirable Skills/Knowledge /Attributes:
· Experience of A/B, Multivariate or Usability testing beneficial
· Understanding of highly transactional ecommerce websites
· Experience working with databases; large data sets; writing queries and structuring reports
