Job Description
Global Data Protection & Privacy Person
The Global Data Protection and Privacy person will play a key role in supporting the growth and success of the Dell CRM platform in the Consumer as well as Small and Medium Business Sales and Marketing Organizations. This role will be responsible to drive and lead foundational competencies to improve Best of Class data privacy functions in support of a complex marketing strategy and various databases.
The ideal candidate should have prior experience in a database environment with responsibilities in ongoing data management, data quality, data governance, marketing privacy, and/or data protection law functions.
Specific responsibilities include:
· Links with the Dell Global Data Protection and Privacy team for support, direction, and act as the privacy lead for and represents the CSMB CRM
· Coordinates/Drives appropriate and compliant Global Data Privacy initiatives across the Consumer and Small & Medium Business segments (CSMB) in both online and offline Sales and Marketing programs
· Oversees compliance with applicable privacy laws, regulations and policies, monitors all CSMB CRM services and systems to assure privacy practices and policies are established and communicated with respect to access, use and disclosure of PII information
· Coordinates with Corporate Compliance, Information Security and other internal business areas as appropriate on key aspects of Privacy management, including new business or product development, investigations, risk management, mitigation and other related topics.
· Act as Guardian of customer privacy by being the first point of contact within the CSMB CRM team for Dell Global Data Protection and Privacy, Legal, Sales, Marketing, Finance and Customer Research
· Conducts investigations surrounding privacy concerns and ensures routine internal inquiries regarding privacy issues are answered correctly and inquiries received by the Global Data Protection and Privacy Team are addressed promptly
· Drive Vendor Management responsibilities by ensuring that appropriate and compliant Privacy Rules and Regulations are incorporated, documented and followed for all CSMB data related services (data processing to list acquisition)
· Continual audit and review of suppression management processes for capturing customer requests and recommend improvements/direction
· Be the Privacy Subject Matter Expert for the CSMB organization and also develop and maintain the Privacy Scorecard
· Works cooperatively with the legal department, Global Data Protection and Privacy and other applicable organization units to oversee customer/prospect rights to inspect, amend and restrict access to CSMB data as appropriate
· Participates as an active member in governance meetings with Dell Data Protection and Privacy Team, i.e. Regional and Global Steering Committees and Marketing Governance Council
· Oversees and delivers the continual updating of Privacy Training within CSMB Marketing for the company workforce for Sales and Marketing, including both in-person and computer based training
Candidate Requirements
Detailed Requirements:
· Bachelor Degree required and Extensive experience in a variety of Data Protection, Database Management, Marketing, Compliance, Controls, preferably in an Multinational, Large Company environment
· Experience with Behavioural Targeting as well as various online marketing channels, i.e. affiliate marketing and other lead generation programs
· Experience with digital and direct marketing rules and regulations as it relates to database activities
· Experience with outbounding/telemarketing and use of autodialers also beneficial
· Proven track record in implementing and overseeing data protection programs across multiple jurisdictions
· Comfort around higher management. Experience presenting to and providing counsel to senior management with ability to act as a champion for the best outcome for Dell. · Creative problem solving and decision making skills
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Excellent communication skills
· CIPP, CISA or CISM or UK ISEB certifications preferred
