Reports to Leighanne Miles - Head of Group E-Commerce

Job Purpose

To drive all marketing for the Internet Channel, primarily focussing on the creation, delivery and monitoring of online marketing campaigns and customer-targeted e-mail; to own the marketing budget and to own and deliver the Internet Marketing strategy

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the Mothercare & ELC internet marketing plan, including implementation of strategy, development of plans, management of the budget and daily/weekly/period performance targets
  • Management of the Search, Affiliate, Price Comparison, Portal and E-mail marketing channels
  • Responsible for the innovation of new online marketing channels
  • Maintain and communicate visibility of competitor online marketing activity and online market share
  • Involvement in system improvements to rectify data/information issues (particularly customer data)
  • Develop and maintain a clear plan for internet marketing over a rolling 12 month timescale
  • Seek/collate customer insight on the effectiveness of the marketing activity and use it to drive enhancements/development of plans.
  • Manage and develop a team of professionals to support overall Marketing strategy

Candidate Requirements

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Minimum 2 years experience in an internet marketing role.
  • Deep working knowledge of Internet marketing tools & landscape
  • Proficient with business reporting and analysis tools
  • Excellent budget management skills
  • High degree of commercial awareness (including budget control, performance evaluation)
  • Strong numerical reasoning and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate well at all levels (both written and verbal)
  • Assertive, confident and able to challenge established ways of working
  • Proactive, resilient and able to work using own initiative
Desirable
  • Experience with Omniture reporting
  • Html/css/photoshop
