Job Description

An outstanding Head of User Experience who can take responsibility for the intelligence and user elements of our output, lead our highly-skilled UX team in creating fantastic work that delivers measurable results for our clients, own and drive forward our processes and be Fortune Cookie's voice of user experience internally, with clients, in pitches and at conferences.

Driving the UX department and working closely with clients and the other Heads of Department, your job is to ensure that the Fortune Cookie consistently delivers experiences that meet our clients' business objectives by delighting their end users.

As well as being a seasoned, highly-skilled practitioner you'll have the drive and leadership skills to keep the whole team on top form. You'll be passionate about great user experience, know how to achieve it, and will delight in sharing your ideas and approaches. You'll own responsibility for all UX deliverables – so you will be passionate about understanding business and user needs – and rigorous in challenging our work to ensure these are being met.

You'll also be responsible for ensuring we always undertake a best practice, best value approach to UX within projects - generate tangible ROI time after time, so you'll be highly adept at planning UX approaches to deliver best value for money for clients.

Candidate Requirements

  • Is a highly skilled user experience designer, with a great portfolio
  • Can develop and drive forward our best practice processes
  • Leads and inspires teams – encouraging outstanding performance
  • Can persuade and engage clients with a compelling vision in pitches and presentations
  • Can authoritatively describe how online experiences form part of an overall brand experience
  • Is a passionate advocate of the business benefits of great UX

You have proven experience in:

  • Proven excellence in analytics, usability testing, online marketing, social and rich media interaction design
  • Deep passion and understanding of your areas of expertise
  • Experience of driving solutions and leading clients in at least two of these sectors: financial services, retail, travel, media, non-profit and government
  • Drive to create brilliant user experiences that meet business needs - making best use of technology
  • Experience driving great team performance and maintaining morale through one to one reviews, appraisals, inspiring, mentoring and by setting objectives and development plans
  • Deep understanding of best practice UX approaches and how to apply them
