Job Summary

As a Senior Service Management Consultant you would be trusted to lead and successfully deliver transformational ITSM engagements that focus on the implementation of ITIL based solutions across the whole organisation.  You will have experience of driving change in a corporate environment and be passionate about the value gained from effective service transition and improvement.

 

We are looking for someone to join us at this exciting time, who can use their deep expertise of service management and consultative skills to accelerate these projects under exacting client pressures.  In this role you will engage strategically with the business to define the required service portfolio and align the necessary support functions to achieve the desired step change.

 

This job is about accelerating the maturity of our client’s services whilst reducing the risk involved in transitioning them to the next generation of data centre technology to support the business.

 

This role provides the opportunity to work in fast moving and challenging environments with many of the top FTSE100 clients. You will be working as part of a multi-disciplined team including project management, migration experts, technical specialists and third parties.

 

You will be expected to take on service transitions with aggressive timescales, across multiple data centres and geographies, assuring business engagement throughout. You will be adept at utilising a range of discovery and automation toolsets and emerging technologies to de-risk the projects and minimise impact to the business.

 

You will a deep understanding of journey management and the change process a client undergoes during transformational change. You’re understanding of techniques and experience in this area will help you sustain and accelerate these programmes.

 

As part of this role, you will play a key part in developing new business, either directly with the client or in conjunction with the sales team through presentations and workshops.

Candidate Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

Leading or working within delivery teams to drive consistent, predictable and scalable delivery of solutions and services and to ensure successful completion of client engagements as well as overall client satisfaction

 

Ability to present transformational ITSM approach of EMC Consulting; gathering and translating customer requirements to transform a client’s environment as well as building the associated business case for change and an appropriate transition plan for implementation.

 

Participating in the collection of data during the discovery phase of engagements via interview, workshop and other discovery techniques and toolsets; participating in and creation of material during the analysis phase of engagements using structured analysis techniques.

 

Successful implementation of EMC Consulting Data Centre Transformation Methodologies including the associated processes required to scope, design, migrate an environment and transition to normal operations.

 

Ability to engage with “the business” on behalf of the IT operations, to successful position ITSM programmes and retain their involvement throughout the transformation.

 

Ability to conduct appropriate due diligence activities prior to final contract.

 

Acting as quality assurance of Infrastructure consulting deliverables.

 

Ensure compliance with all corporate processes that govern the management of the Practice for example time recordings, resource scheduling, SoW creation are adhered to.

 

Support Solution Principles in scoping and positioning Infrastructure Consulting solutions.

 

Essential skills

Proven background in service management process and toolset implementation, with extensive experience gained in a large organisation with complex IT operating across regional or global geography

At least 3 years experience in the ITSM industry

ITIL accreditation (Red Badge) with proven experience of implementing the range of ITIL best practice processes

Strong consulting skills including workshop facilitation and discovery techniques, transformation journey management

Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to influence at a senior management level

Knowledge of service orientated architecture techniques and methodologies

Strong MS Office, Excel and Word Skills

Ability to work effectively with senior management.

Ability to work in a matrix environment

Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision

Ability to lead and mentor junior members of our team

Continuous development of oneself and others in new thinking, approaches and methodologies
