Job Description

The Marketing Assistant will report into the Marketing Director, will also be supporting and working with the Marketing Executive. The role includes supporting the execution of the marketing plan, owning specific elements and being responsible for their delivery. The varied role will involve many aspects of marketing, including planning, email creation, copywriting, events management and social media. The role will include:

- Assistance to deliver the Adestra email communications programme
The Marketing Assistant will support the Marketing Executive on the delivery of the email communications plan. This will involve email creation, proofing, approvals and reporting post email. This will involve managing some (not all) of the email communications delivered by Adestra.

- Adestra Social Media delivery
Supporting the Marketing Executive, the Marketing Assistant is responsible for the delivery of Adestra’s social media activity. The Marketing Assistant should ensure consistent and on brand communications and that all social media channels are up-to-date and used effectively for brand engagement and potential lead generation. This is to include the Adestra blog, twitter and Linked-In.

- Retention Marketing delivery
Supporting the Marketing Executive, deliver the Retention Marketing plan ensuring:

Delivering parts of the plan, such as email newsletters and other communications.
Provide assistance when required to Marketing Executive on the delivery of certain elements.
Plans to be signed off by the Marketing Director prior to implementation.

- Ownership of Adestra client case studies and Campaign of the month
The Marketing Assistant will be responsible for new Adestra case studies, keeping them up-to-date and ready for email newsletters and events. They will be in charge of the copywriting and the design. They must be signed off by Marketing Director.

- Adestra third party advertising
Adestra have many opportunities to provide adverts in third party magazines, feature banners and copy in third party newsletters etc. The Marketing Assistant will be in charge of ensuring these are created and delivered on time, managing the calendar with them all and measuring their effectiveness.

- Key event support
Assist the Marketing Director and Marketing Executive on delivery of key Adestra events, to be allocated by the Marketing Director. The Marketing Assistant will also be responsible for the organisation and deliver for the following type of events:

Ownership of delivering forum events – preparing materials and information prior to the events.
Ownership of awards ceremonies and other partner events (organising attendance, adverts etc).

- Adestra website
Working with the Marketing Director, the Marketing Assistant will support the Marketing Director with the copywriting and maintenance of www.adestra.com This will involve working with designers, potential copywriters, HTML and also the website platform wordpress.

Other responsibilities include:

Administration: ensure the departments procedures and processes are adhered to at all times. The Marketing Assistant must be in control of all Salesforce campaigns they are responsible for and other marketing admin, such as invoices and budget / ROI reporting.
Process and procedure development: Procedures and processes are important in order to adhere to the marketing plan and ensure brand guidelines are adhered to. The Marketing Assistant will be responsible for producing and upholding written procedures for elements of the plan that they are responsible for. E.g. blog processes, guidelines etc.

Candidate Requirements

Personal Characteristics

Ideally have used an email marketing system for at least 6 months and have some knowledge of HTML.

Must be Oxford based, but flexible to travel to London and other UK cities on occasion.

A self starter who is willing to learn and take ownership of projects in a key role for Adestra. Able to show initiative where relevant, the individual will be confident, bright and happy to share their ideas with others.

The ideal candidate will have excellent English and a strong, confident telephone manner, they must be comfortable dealing with people at all levels of an organisation and be familiar with some marketing terminology.

Some marketing knowledge, such as completion of a marketing course such as CIM or IDM diploma.

A good humoured team player, the ideal candidate will take pride in their work and be able to thrive in a fairly pressurised environment and continuously strive to deliver the best service to their clients, support colleagues and become a world-class marketer.
