Job Description
An exciting role for an experienced New Media Project Manager, responsible for facilitating the timely and accurate delivery of sponsored campaigns and projects, with a public engagement and participation focus.
The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) has been established as the organisation that will plan and stage the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. The New Media Team (‘the Team’) sits within the London 2012 Communications Department (‘the Department’). The Team’s objective is to ensure that London 2012’s new media channels will be the number one way for the public to access, share and participate in the 2012 Games. In addition the Team will be responsible for delivering the new media elements of many critical business applications and services before and during the Games and a results service at Games time. The New Media Project Manager will be responsible for facilitating the timely and accurate delivery of sponsored digital campaigns and projects, with a public engagement and participation focus. A key first deliverable for the New Media Project Manager is a legacy sports participation programme that inspires young people to play more sport, the core of which is the delivery of a web and mobile site.
- Day-to-day management of third party suppliers
- Day-to-day budget monitoring of projects
- Stakeholder management
- Developing project/product scope in consultation with the Head of New Media, sponsors, and internal/external stakeholders
- Acceptance testing and signing-off supplier deliverables
- Delivering products to an agreed quality, on time and to budget
- Acting as first point of contact on the projects
- Leading on product roadmap planning
- Planning across multiple projects
- Project and budget planning
- Establishing and maintaining regular reporting processes for each project
Candidate Requirements
- Significant industry experience
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practice techniques
- Experience of a number of different project styles and delivery methods
- Experience of day-to-day management of large, complex projects
