Job Description

A fantastic opportunity exists to join Standard Chartered's developing online communications function. We are looking for a highly motivated communications executive to be responsible for driving forward and assisting with the firm's online content strategy, across internal and external communications channels.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage day to day running of the company intranet, including Group homepage and publishing schedules, and Corporate Communications information.
  • Develop and manage online communications channels, editorial and features.
  • Write, edit and manage social media content, alongside Corporate Communications team and Sustainability team.
  • Help drive online content and social media usage around the Bank.
  • Train and assist Corporate Affairs teams with day to day publishing.
  • Manage and use web statistics to monitor usage and provide suggestions for improvements to user journey, content or design.
  • Assist with establishing and managing guidelines for internal and external online communications best practice editorial and user experience.
  • Help roll-out online-centric initiatives such as My Sites.
  • Be first point of contact for user queries and feedback.
  • Develop close working relationships with technical teams and business contacts.
  • Deputise for Senior Manager as required.

Candidate Requirements

You will demonstrate practical experience in using web channels, organising, writing and editing content for the web. As well as being an effective problem solver, you will have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

Essential

  • Experience in delivering and managing online communications.
  • Keen interest and understanding in what makes online communications intuitive and effective.
  • Good all round communication skills, with an expertise in writing and editing for the web.
  • Excellent understanding of the wider communications spectrum.
  • Ability to form successful working relationships with colleagues across the group.
  • Flexibility and willingness to deal with new subjects, challenging current ways of working and influencing people.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Ability to challenge stakeholders.
  • Strong emphasis on multi-tasking and ability to prioritise workload.
  • Proven track record of delivering high quality work within a demanding environment.
  • Experience of Content Management and/or other publishing systems.

Advantageous

  • The successful candidate will ideally have financial or professional services experience
  • Experience of Microsoft SharePoint as well as basic HTML, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop.
