Job Description

The Labour Party is looking to recruit an Online Communities Organiser to help continue to develop and enhance our presence on the web. The post is offered on a fixed term contract until the next General Election and will form a key part of our New Media Campaigning.

1. Play a key role in the creation, implementation and maintenance of content across Labour’s web platforms

2. Maintain, monitor and report on Labour’s presence on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.

3. Promote Labour’s campaigns online using social media tools

4. Build relationships with key online stakeholders and encourage the creation of user-generated content from our online communities

5. Manage and build Labour’s online community – Membersnet - supporting members, responding to help requests, assessing and improving the user journey and ensuring appropriate moderation

6. Maintain an understanding of the emerging trends in social media and develop techniques to ensure that Labour is maximising opportunity in this area 

7.  Provide advice, assistance and training to Head Office and regional staff, elected representatives and other stakeholders on social media. 

Candidate Requirements

Experience/Knowledge
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and the latest trends in social media  
A proven ability to interpret data, identify and analyse trends and implement key findings 
Knowledge and understanding of the Labour Party organisation

Skills
Proven organisational and project management skills along with the ability to multitask, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
Good written and oral communications skills
Strong team-player
Ability to work on own initiative
Attention to detail
