About the Search Team

The Search team consists of 37 Search experts in the PPC and Natural Visibility (SEO) disciplines.

These Search teams work in a collaborative fashion where they promote the sharing of idea’s, innovations and the frequent celebration of success.

Reporting to the Search Director and working within a large and well known account, the Search Account Manager will look after a small team of extremely motivated Search Planners, whilst also offering Search expertise to an exciting and rapidly expanding area of i-level. As a larger account, there are presently four Search Account Managers within the team who take ownership of a specific portfolio within this account. The role offers huge career development opportunities in a supportive environment whilst also allowing the freedom to utilise the ideas gained through experience managing PPC accounts for a variety of different clients.

 

About the Responsibilities

The Search Account Manager is responsible for the smooth running and delivery of clients’ PPC Search strategies. This involves overseeing a range of tasks from planning the activity, through overseeing its booking, monitoring delivery & optimisation, to the presentation of the final results.

 

Key areas of the role include:

 

Account management

  •  Day-to-day management responsibility for allocated accounts
  •  Ensuring clients receive the highest level of servicing and are continually aware of the state of their campaigns and results
  •  Ensuring all budgets and timescales are met
  •  Overseeing the preparation and communication of campaign reports to clients

 Search planning, buying and delivery

  • Maintaining and further developing a high level of awareness of Search media and other opportunities: platforms, listings types, search engines and search technologies incl. bid management.
  • Leading the strategic planning process, with input from the Account Director and / or Head of Search
  • Overseeing the preparation of innovative and effective Search solutions, using a combination of different paid-for vehicles & the successful selling in of these to your clients
  • Overseeing, the day-to-day negotiation of cost-effective pricing (where relevant) with media owners or search engines
  • Overseeing the day-to-day delivery and implementation of Search solutions
  • Ensuring contact with media owners and search engines at an appropriate level throughout the Search team
  • Never walking past a quality issue

Team management

  • Day-to-day management of 2 Search Planners and a Trainee.
  • Motivation and inspiration of your team members, ensuring they are challenged and have a detailed career progression to work towards
  • Fostering an open culture that facilitates teaching and learning

Reporting 

  •  Ensuring that the relevant team members are fully aware of all active briefs
  • Knowledge sharing within your team and the broader search team

Candidate Requirements

You will ideally have three or more years experience working in digital media or search engine marketing, with a proven track record in SEM planning and buying across a diverse range of clients .Your thorough understanding of traditional media and how digital works with them in contributing to client communication plans will be highly regarded, as will your understanding of all major research sources such as TGI, comScore and experience of working with all major traffic and technology systems.

 

Other important elements for the success of this role include:

  • Experience of managing a small group of people
  • Experience of managing senior client relationships on a day-to-day basis
  • Experience and confidence presenting in formal conditions at a senior level
  • Experience of working in tandem with creative, strategic and other media agencies
  • Experience of preparing and managing budgets and excellent numeracy skills
  • Excellent communicator with high levels of organisational ability
