Job Description
STEEL are a full-service digital communications agency, creating end-to-end digital marketing and communication strategies for our clients. We specialise in customer acquisition, conversion and retention and our expertise covers the full digital journey of the consumer. Strategic planning always comes at the forefront of everything we do; all our work starts by understanding the needs of the client and their customer and we always ensure that the most effective online channels and solutions are used to deliver against our clients’ objectives.
This means that our clients stay with us; 80% have been with us for over five years. Our longest standing client, SeaFrance, has been with us for over 12 years, and we took Debenhams online 10 years ago.
We are now looking to take search marketing in house and to build a team of experts in both paid and natural search. As this position is the start of this process, it represents an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of a major new team within the dynamic STEEL structure. Responsibilities
This role will manage all aspects of Search Engine Marketing (PPC and SEO) for STEEL’s client base and requires skills in all phases of SEO and PPC production. The role entails:
- Defining and implementing natural search and paid search strategies and campaigns across client base
- Setting benchmarks and demonstrating Return on Investment
- Delivering against client objectives and KPIs
- Campaign monitoring, optimisation, analysis, reporting and strategy
- Researching latest trends and educate both internally and externally, ensuring that internal teams have high levels of understanding of STEEL’s search offering and the search space
- Preparing proposals and attendance at new business meetings
- For natural search clients, providing technical consultancy, support and guidance to clients, including provision of written documents and guides where necessary
- Building relationships with search engines and liaising with search engine account managers to ensure optimised campaigns
- Daily contact with clients in an account management capacity
- Primary contact for search engines and clients
- Internal and external training
Candidate Requirements
- Proven track record in developing solid relationships with clients, search engines and internal departments
- Advanced knowledge of the search industry and all search engines
- Excellent time management and decision making skills
- Analytical with excellent attention to detail
- Results oriented, with the ability to work to targets and deadlines
- Problem solving skills
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential
- Advanced knowledge of tracking solutions
- Knowledge and understanding of Content Management Systems
- Understanding of how the search channel fits in with the overall marketing mix
- Understanding Social Media Optimisation and its relevance as an online marketing channel
- Enthusiastic and passionate about search, positive and hard working
Qualifications and Experience
- At least three years experience in both SEO and PPC is essential
- Previous experience of managing budgets and providing effective ROI
- Degree educated
- People management skills
- Client facing experience, including experience of presenting at board level
