Job Description
In the world of retail, things happen fast. Especially at Shop Direct. The name behind some of the UK’s best known brands, we have ambitious plans for the future. In fact, we aim to become the home of online retail. And by helping to improve the search experience for all Shop Direct Group customers, you’ll have a vital role to play.
About the role
You’ll make sure we use all the available web analytics tools and data to the full so we can improve our customers’ search experience and quickly identify any issues. You’ll then develop a plan of initiatives to improve search performance and enhance our customers’ end-to-end experience. We’ll expect you to adopt a test and optimise culture by deploying appropriate usability, AB and multivariate tests across our different websites, working closely with our Brand teams. You’ll also need to work with our Marketing Services, Creative and Web Development teams on channel, creative and landing page optimisation for search traffic, focusing on maximising conversion.
Candidate Requirements
About you
Experience of search, usability and testing is essential and you’ll have a proven ability to raise standards by implementing innovative new ideas. You’re comfortable with data and web analytics tools and methodologies, and as well as being highly numerate, you’ll bring a structured, analytical approach. You know how to put yourself in customers’ shoes and you’ll be confident managing the needs of teams in Marketing and Product & Merchandising.
About us
With companies ranging from Littlewoods, Kays and Very through to Marshall Ward and Woolworths.co.uk, and some 400 national and own brands such as Nike, Diesel, Miss Sixty, Dyson, Bosch and Sony, Shop Direct has something for everyone. We have our own financial services business and, with a turnover of £1.6 billion and 5 million customers, we’re the largest home shopping and online retailer in the UK. Some 56% of our products are now sold online – and we’re on track to hit our target of 80% by 2010/2011. In fact, we want to become the home of online retail. And you could help us get there.
