Job Description
Introduction
The Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Consultant will report to the Head of Search and will work within a new media agency to advise on, set up, manage and optimise all things SEO for a range of clients.
The position will be based in central Bristol, England.
A limited amount of travel will be required for client meetings.
- Developing and managing all elements of SEO for a growing range of clients. This will involve strategy formulation, recommending on content and onsite optimisation, as well as link building and wider site promotion.
- Working with the web design and build team to inform the structure and content of new websites from an SEO point of view.
- Creating insightful and actionable SEO performance reports, measuring campaign success against client KPIs.
- Providing clients with general SEO consultancy, advising and educating them on the major factors that influence natural search.
- Keeping up-to-date on all industry trends and developments in order to further improve campaign performance and provide an innovative SEO service

Candidate Requirements
Essential:
The successful candidate must:
- Live and breathe SEO by taking an unhealthy interest in all parts of the industry.
- Be able to provide examples of previous SEO work and demonstrate the results and success of this work.
- Display a high level of written English.
- Be literate with standard web software and content management systems (CMS).
- Be a proficient user of MS Office products. Excel is of particular importance.
- Be analytical by nature and imaginative, with the ability to interpret data and create insightful reporting .
- Deliver on promises and deadlines.
- Demonstrate the capacity to work on own initiative and also be a good team-player.
- Display a methodical approach to business and development including good documentation skills.
- Be able to learn quickly both at a business process level and also at a technical/IT level.
- Be educated to degree level.
- Be confident.
- Have 2+ years experience within a search marketing environment.
Desirable:
- Detailed understanding of the synergies between paid and natural search.
- Previous experience working in an Agency environment in a search marketing role.
- Experience of employing SEO within the travel sector.
- Experience within other areas of digital marketing e.g. social media, email and affiliate marketing.

This role is a proactive one where the individual is expected to be self-motivated as a key member of a small yet growing agency. You will be expected to be “hands-on” and be competent with business and technical work in a small business environment.
