Job Description:

As part of EMC Business Consulting, the candidate will work on multiple projects to provide services to telecommunications clients.  Candidate will likely manage part of or all of a telecom project/programme, however, may also act as an individual contributor and must be comfortable in both capacities.  Must provide thought leadership to client problem resolution in addition to developing strategies that deliver excellent client results.

Candidate should have an excellent understanding of the wireless and fixed telecommunications industries, with at least 10 years experience in providing management consulting services (preferably to telecommunications clients).  Candidates with equivalent industry experience will be considered.  The candidate must be able to supervise a team of up to 10 direct reports in a complex, matrix-reporting organisation.  Candidates must possess excellent communications, organizational and leadership skills and must provide thought leadership on impact analysis and strategy development.   In addition, candidates must support implementation/delivery activities and interact with client personnel and senior leadership to accomplish project objectives.  Candidates must be self-starters and be able to work both individually and in a team environment. 

Specific telecommunications experience with standard telecommunications products such as PSTN, ISDN, VPN, dedicated circuits, Customer Premise Equipment (CPE), GSM, GPRS, Edge 3G and/or 4G required.  Experience in call centres/BSS/OSS systems and related business processes such as ordering, provisioning, and customer care a plus.  Must be able to lead telecommunications change management activities such as the analyses of client operations, business processes, and organisational structures using Business Process Reengineering and CPI methods and tools to develop and implement recommendations that lead to improved client productivity.

Candidate will be part of a growing UK based consultancy within a multi-national corporation and must be able to contribute to business development activities.  Prior experience in a large consultancy with formal programme management methodologies is required.  Ability to travel to client locations (~80%) required - will vary with assignment.

3.       Excellent written and oral communication skills including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint and MS Office)

4.       Executive-level communication and presentation experience

5.       Experience managing client expectations in a challenging and changing environment

6.       Experience with executing and delivering process improvements, continuous process improvement, change management, and communications

7.       Minimum education requirement: Bachelor's degree, however, an advanced degree in the area of specialization or an MBA is preferred

8.       Prior experience managing suppliers preferred

9.       Project management skills as demonstrated through scope/release management, project planning, status reporting and issue and risk tracking

10.   Strong organizational and multitasking skills

11.   Strong people skills to include the ability to lead and motivate other team members

12.   Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment

13.   Willingness to mentor junior staff

Telecom Skills Requirements

1.       Change management and business process change knowledge related to billing, ordering and provisioning.  Candidate will work with client organisations to re-design business processes, provide expertise based on previous experience with business process analysis (including process mapping, workload assessments and benchmarking/market surveys), change management, communications, and general management consulting activities.

5.       Delivery assurance capabilities to include estimation, development methodology adherence, and change management
