Job Description
You will be part of a self-organising agile team of motivated, like-minded engineers, designers and testers who strive to create innovative and excellent solutions to our customers’ problems while maintaining the highest quality and integrity of our codebase and architecture. We use the best tools and techniques available to us to create these solutions; often adopting new technologies or ideas in order to delight our customers.
As part of the role, you’ll be using scrum to maintain existing systems and enhance our new platform based on the desires of our stakeholders and users. To do this, we provide all the tools you need to write, test and deploy your code.
Each of our developers plays a key part in the future of our products, by contributing to sprint planning and execution. By being part of a product development scrum team, you will have insight and input into the features that will satisfy our customers.
Key responsibilities within this role include:
• Working closely with your team, stakeholders and customers to create our products.
• Mentoring and training others.
• Helping to make key s/w design and architecture decisions.
• Maintaining and enhancing existing applications and systems.
• Owning the process and identifying potential problems with the process or systems.
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following technical skills:
• Development with PHP, JavaScript, HTML and CSS
• Object Oriented Programming and Test Driven Development
• Databases, MySQL
• Basic Linux administration
Further more, you should:
• Possess good communication skills (both verbal and written), able to exchange information with others clearly and concisely.
• Exude a friendly and professional manner with confidence when working with people.
• Be interested enough in what you do to spend time reading, researching and getting involved in communities on- and off-line.
• Be able to demonstrate creative thinking when problem-solving.
• Be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with your colleagues and customers if necessary.
• Commercial experience in building enterprise quality software, especially utilising PHP.
• Some exposure to Agile and Scrum.
