Having grown into the largest organic home delivery businesses in the UK, we now need a talented and seasoned Digital Marketing Manager to help us convert more people to the joys of cooking with fresh, seasonal, organic produce.

We have a loyal and strong-minded customer base. You will need to build customer loyalty through effective social media and communications strategies. These will include user generated content and dialogue, either using external social media platforms (Facebook, Bebo, Twitter, Virtual worlds) and/or establishing Riverford’s website as a destination for peer to peer activity, as well as regular customer email communications, including newsletters, offers and promotions, recipes, videos.

 

Attracting new customers to our website as well as reconnecting with those who have not used us for a while will be vital to sustain our growth. You will need to ensure that our website ranks highly via natural SEO whilst also making best use of SEM, particularly managing PPC and affiliate relationships and budgets. Strategic partnerships and online advertising opportunities will also be important to maintain the presence of our brand in a competitive marketplace.

 

Website analysis is key to understanding and thereby driving our marketing campaigns to upsell and cross sell to active customers.  Analytics will also drive changes to the website content, user experience and SEM to increase conversion, basket values, click through and open rates. Your strength in utilising analytics packages and interpreting that data will therefore be vital.

 

Being one of the people in the business most steeped in the digital world, you must be prepared to lead, influence and persuade stakeholders (including our local franchisees) that your digital strategy will deliver results and remain in keeping with the ethics and values of the established Riverford brand.

 

In terms of structure, this role will report to and work closely with the Marketing Director. You will manage the Online and Direct Marketing team of 3, leading, supporting and motivating them, and increasing their opportunity to work on new projects and initiatives. 

 

Your KPIs will include e-commerce sales, traffic figures, registrations, subscriptions of active and re-engaging dormant customers. You will have the support of internal staff and external agencies but this is an operational role as well as a strategic one, so you must be willing to be hands on.

 

Experience in delivering digital marketing excellence within an innovative or emerging brand is essential. You will be experienced in all aspects of digital marketing activity and be a credible manager to the Digital and Marketing staff. This will suit someone who has worked for either a reputable client side company who has experienced growth or for a digital agency. Either way we would ideally like you to have dealt with the challenges of marketing a product with a complex distribution model. Stakeholder management, planning, scheduling and budget management experience will be essential.
