Web Content Manager / Marketing Manager (Online Retail), Herts
An exciting opportunity to manage and market , our client's new site, "Real Food" with the overall aim of becoming the biggest and best food website.
Position: Marketing Manager - Real Food
Location: Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire but you will also spend time in the Head Office in Cheshunt and the agency in central London.
Salary: c.£50K
6 Month Fixed Term contract
ROLE:
Tesco.com have recently launched their new food site: Tesco Real Food ([URL removed] the objective of the site is to offer inspiration, information and the opportunity for interaction to their customers. It also pulls together all food content from across all Tesco sites into one place. They believe the site has potential to be one of the best most visited food websites in the UK and the only site with click-to-buy functionality with all of their recipes.
They now need to drive the site forward and make it a strong contender with the other top food websites by consolidating existing and new exciting food content from across their business. They will also support seasonal messages, their offline publications (Tesco Magazine and Real Food), relevant corporate events (e.g. launch of new food ranges) and also relevant trading and offers on the Tesco.com grocery site.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Grocery Senior Marketing Manager in Tesco.com. Responsibilities will include;
a) Management of content on Real Food:
b) Liaising with key stakeholders to collating food content that is generated across Tesco; working closely with their corporate Marketing team in Cheshunt and other areas of their business ( e.g. Commercial, Brands, Local)
c) Briefing the marketing agency on a weekly basis to deliver engaging customer content online, prioritising space and opportunities to drive sales and loyalty through Tesco.com via recipe click-to-buys.
d) Owning the marketing plan for the Real Food website, to support their aim of creating the biggest online food website in 2010. Market the site through the following channels:
On tesco.com web site, within E-mails, external online advertising, search and affiliates, In store, Clubcard, within off line publications.
e) Competitor and market analysis
f) Work with web developers and the agency to optimise the Real Food site for natural search.
g) Monitoring traffic and flow through the site
Candidate Requirements
a) Prior marketing knowledge is essential as the job spans the whole marketing mix.
b) Prior experience of on-line and publishing would be beneficial.
c) Some analytical skills will be required to evaluate how the site is performing and which channel works best to drive traffic and volumes.
d) An understanding of their key competitors
e) You need to have a passion and real interest for food and cooking.
f) The ability to coordinate people to deliver activity.
