Web Trading Manager

Title: Web Trading Manager
Reporting to: Head of E-Commerce

JOB PURPOSE
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic online expert to join at an exciting time in its ambitious growth plan.

The objective of this role is to lead the trading, SEO content and feature development. This will include understanding customer and web research, working with senior business stakeholders to agree strategy, leading the design of new features and websites, liaising closely with IT and marketing/web agencies, and leading projects. In addition you will lead and motivate a team and manage and develop key relationships with outsource suppliers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

In this role you will be responsible for:

Understanding, Strategy and Planning

- Initiating and reviewing detailed customer research, web traffic statistics, market intelligence, competitors etc. to understand customer behaviour, issues and opportunities on the site
- Identifying opportunities to improve conversion/spend/loyalty/usability around the site and plans appropriate solutions

Trading

- Accountability for all trading and operational updates

- Ensuring detailed trading plans are agreed each month in advance with key stakeholders to ensure we meet trading targets
- Reviewing trading performance and drives continuous improvement

SEO + Team Management

- Managing and improving SEO performance
- Managing the site trading and content team [currently consisting of Comms Manager, SEO Manager, Analyst, Site Administrator]

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will be/possess:

- Significant experience managing and developing high profile, consumer facing, transactional websites

Note: this role does not call for coding expertise although the incumbent will need to be able to understand web technologies, produce simple pages in a content management system and work closely with IT

- Knowledge of web usability, design best practice and accessibility
- Knowledge of consumer research & consumer segmentation techniques
- Knowledge of SEO approaches
- Knowledge of multi-variant testing
- Experience of leading cross-functional project teams
- Graduate Calibre
